The city of Selma’s runoff vote is now official.
The Selma City Council certified the results of the Sept. 23 runoff at a special called meeting on Sept. 30. After reviewing 15 provisional ballots, the council added four votes to the tally of unsuccessful mayor candidate Aaron “the Veteran” Roper.
With the additional votes, Roper officially received 1,783 votes. Johnny Moss III won the mayor’s race with 2,368 votes, or 57%.
